My Brilliant Journey: From Hong Kong to The Royal School, Dungannon
Meet Justin, one of the pupils featured in Boarding NI’s film, ‘Our Brilliant Journey’. Justin lives in Hong Kong and came to the Royal School Dungannon when he was just ten years old. His parents heard about the school from family friends in Hong Kong and decided it would be the perfect place for Justin to study.
Justin has been in Northern Ireland for five years now and says that the warm welcome he received in Northern Ireland was really important. “Everyone has been so welcoming and made sure that I felt at home here and part of the boarding school community. Even if the Northern Ireland weather is a bit cold, the welcome is warm!”
A keen rugby player, Justin thinks that the teachers in his school are brilliant and his top tip would be that anyone thinking of coming to board in Northern Ireland should come as early as they can!
The Royal School Dungannon is a co-educational Voluntary Grammar School and Boarding School established by Royal Charter in 1608. The aim of the school is to provide pupils with an opportunity to study a broad curriculum and to develop a life-long love of learning; and to foster an environment within which pupils may seek and fulfil their personal development. Weekly and full boarders are welcomed at The Royal School Dungannon.
